The Wellington North Rotary Scholarship Trust

Incorporating

The Ian Crabtree Bequest

The Rotary Club of Wellington North offers a number of study awards each year through the Scholarship Trust.

The Trust was formed in 1992 by members of the Club with the aim of assisting individuals who can demonstrate financial hardship with the cost of tertiary education, vocational training or the development of life skills. The fund recently received a substantial boost through a bequest from Ian Crabtree (click here for futher information) and the Trustees are now able to offer two scholarships in electrical engineering in addition to the general grants.

The awards are available to students from the Wellington region but can be can be utilized for study in any institution. In some cases the award may cover aspects of overseas study. The undergraduate scholarship will be advertised in the schools in the Wellington region.

In 2007/2008 the Trust awarded a total amount of $68,500 to 32 students. This included three electrical undergraduate students who each received $5000.

Applications for these scholarships for the 2009 academic year from people within the Wellington region are now open.  Applications must be made on the appropriate Wellington North Rotary Scholarship Trust application form which can be downloaded from this site. Applicants are to forward 3 fully completed copies of their application to the Club Secretary before 1 November 2008.

All grants are entirely at the discretion of the trustees of the Wellington North Rotary Scholarship Trust, whose decisions are final.

Sample application forms are available for viewing or downloading in three categories as follows:
